April 5: Immigrant's Day at the State House 
Immigrant's Day at the State House on April 5th is an opportunity to talk to our state legislators about how they can support the immigrant community in Massachusetts. We will be advocating on behalf of the 1 million foreign-born residents of the Commonwealth--and talking to our legislators about why they should support the Safe Communities Act and other pro-immigration legislation. The event begins at 9 am at the State House and lobbying will go until 3 pm. There will be keynote speakers in the Hall of Flags from 10:00-11:00 am, after which we encourage you to meet with your legislator. June 18-20: TESOL Advocacy & Policy Summit
An opportunity for educators to learn about U.S. federal education issues and advocate for policies that support English learners and the field of English language education.

The MATSOL Board sends a representative to this event each year, but any TESOL member can attend (pre-registraiton required; travel, hotel and registration costs are not covered).
