Description

How to identify, analyze and develop academic language for English learners (ELs) using WIDA English Language Development Standards and other tools; cultural considerations related to ELs.

 
Audience

All teachers and their supervisors. Appropriate for teachers of Art, Music, Theater, Physical Education, Health, Computers/Technology, and other special subjects.Also appropriate for support staff including Guidance Counselors, Nurses, Librarians, Speech Pathologists, etc.

How to identify, analyze, and develop academic language for ELLs using WIDA© and other tools; includes cultural considerations related to English learners.

Format

2 six-hour sessions with 3 hours of asynchronous online coursework between sessions (15 hours total). Can be formatted flexibly to meet the needs of a district.
