About the meeting:

Creating a new narrative around student success

Defining student success during the 2021-22 school year will be an important step in getting our schools back to "normal". To that end, how are we working with students and families to determine what student success means for each individual? Our SIG is determined to create a new narrative around success. Over the past 18 months, the pandemic has shined a light on the inequities of our education system, particularly when we think about defining student success. Recent headlines have highlighted the fact that student achievement on MCAS significantly fell across the state of Massachusetts, but should this determine what it means to have a successful school year? Is this how you measured student success in your classroom, school or district? Come join a conversation with other educators to explain how you determine success. Let's talk about what role a student and their family plays in identifying areas for learning. What benchmarks do you set together with a family? Most importantly, how do you know that students are successful?

Come get inspired and inspire!
