Online Meeting
Wednesday, April 27, 2022, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM EDT
Category: Special Interest Groups

The ESL Unit Developers SIG is for K-12 teachers throughout the state who are interested in creating and implementing ESL curriculum units using the materials and processes of the Massachusetts Next Generation ESL Project. The goal of the ESL Unit Developers SIG is to facilitate collaboration in writing, reviewing, implementing, and sharing WIDA ELD Standards-based units in order to promote effective English language development for EL students state-wide. Visit the ESL Unit Developers SIG page for more information.

You are invited to join a "Choose Your Own" Unit Writing Discussion at the ESL Unit Developers SIG Meeting next Wednesday, April 27 from 4:30-5:30PM.

Would you like to:

  • give or receive feedback on a unit you or a colleague has started?
  • learn about creating a REACH unit?
  • learn how to write a unit?
  • refine the ACCESS Prep Unit our SIG worked on this fall?

Bring your ideas, materials, and drafts for a time of active collaboration in breakout groups according to attendees’ interests. Even if you’re new to unit development, we encourage you to attend and get started on your journey!

For this SIG meeting, you will have to register to attend. Please remember to choose the group you'd like to join on the registration form. Choose from the following groups:

  • ACCESS preparation unit: Unit Share and Next Steps! - Boni-esther
  • Develop a REACH Unit - We’re here for you! - Liana
  • How to write an ELD unit: Let’s get started!   - Jess & Susannah
  • Feedback Fun - How to evaluate a lesson or unit and update it - Kerry & Allison
