MATSOL English Learner Leadership Council (MELLC)
The MATSOL English Learner Leadership Council is a group of directors and coordinators of PK-12 English Learner education programs in Massachusetts.
The group meets four times during the school year, and communicates by a private MATSOL E-List. The agendas for MELLC meetings are collaboratively agreed upon by members and include topics such as advocacy, compliance and civil rights; curriculum and instruction; special education/Response To Intervention and ELE; screening and placement; parent involvement; technology and ELL education; and issues specific to low incidence/high incidence districts. Meetings include presentations by guest speakers and experts in the field, as well as time for discussion and networking with other MELLC members.
MELLC is a leadership group that is open to MATSOL members who have been appointed as, or serve in the role of, PK-12 English Learner Education Program Directors or Coordinators.
Registration Fee: $340.00 per year, which includes annual MATSOL membership, the four-meeting series with breakfast and lunch, and subscription to the MELLC E-List.

All meetings take place on Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Leominster, and include a light breakfast and buffet lunch.
2016-17 School Year Meetings
Participants may book a hotel room at the Doubletree on the Thursday prior to a meeting for the reduced group rate. Reservations must be made 30 days prior to the check in date by calling 978-534-9000. Indicate that you are part of MATSOL (MELLC) to receive the group rate. The hotel room is not included in the MATSOL registration fee and must be paid by the participant.
