Debbie Zacarian, MATSOL board member, facilitated a panel of practitioners to help identify key issues affecting our adolescent students. David Valade, Director of ELL Programs in Holyoke, shared best practices to meet this growing population. Tony King, ELL Coach for the Boston Public Schools, described Boston's intake center for newcomers at the high school level. Monica Goncalves, Cape Verdean bilingual science teacher from Brockton High School, spoke about the school's program for limited formal schooling students.
